Description

  • Lead and grow a high-performing blockchain integrations engineering team through mentorship, coaching, and feedback.
  • Translate the team roadmap into reliable, scalable systems that support custody, staking, governance, and other on-chain functionality.
  • Hire, develop, and retain exceptional engineers while supporting performance management and growth planning.
  • Partner with product managers and cross-functional leaders to define investments and align roadmap, team capacity, and technical realities.
  • Own the quality, timeliness, and impact of the team’s execution and delivery.
  • Drive operational excellence and refine the engineering and technology strategy for the team.
  • Oversee secure infrastructure and blockchain integration work that supports the institutional platform.
  • Manage ambiguity and complex technical challenges while keeping the team energized and effective.
  • Collaborate across engineering, recruiting, and people teams to influence team structure and hiring.
  • Champion code quality, test infrastructure, and user and business value in technical decisions.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and growing a geographically distributed engineering team.
  • Real-world experience building complex distributed systems.
  • Experience building services from scratch and supporting them over a meaningful period of time.
  • Strong engineering and management skills; specific programming language experience is less important than leadership ability.
  • Deep understanding of code quality and test infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Ability to prioritize end-user experience and business value over novelty or “cool tech.”
  • Bonus: experience with applied cryptography.
  • Bonus: professional experience with Go, Rust, TypeScript, or Solidity.
  • Bonus: familiarity with optimistic and zero-knowledge technologies; finance industry background is also preferred.
