Description

  • Directly instruct and support students in online courses in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Facilitate a safe, productive learning environment that strengthens the student learning experience.
  • Respond promptly to student questions, requests for clarification, and outreach to inactive students.
  • Review course functionality and content to ensure high-quality course delivery.
  • Provide timely feedback on assignments in accordance with college policies.
  • Track, synthesize, and report student performance data on schedule.
  • Support academic integrity by teaching ethical conduct and addressing plagiarism or copyright concerns.
  • Direct students to supplemental resources to support their skills and success.
  • Collaborate with department leadership and colleagues, including attending required meetings.
  • Contribute to professional development, research, and the broader mission of the college.

Requirements

  • Earned terminal degree in Leadership, Higher Education, Research, or Community College-related field.
  • Minimum 1+ year of teaching and leadership experience in a formal educational setting.
  • Experience teaching in both traditional and non-traditional formats, with higher education experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success building online or virtual professional relationships.
  • Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors.
  • Expertise in the field and deep knowledge of emerging issues and trends related to the department.
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a virtual environment and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Must reside outside Alaska, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, South Dakota, and Alabama.
