Description

  • Deliver approximately 3 hours per day of individualized virtual mathematics instruction to a cohort of 3rd and 4th-grade students.
  • Diagnose student misconceptions and strengths in real time during instruction.
  • Design and adapt custom learning pathways based on student needs and established cognitive research.
  • Maintain detailed daily decision journals documenting instructional choices, student cognitive states, and adjustments.
  • Participate in observation cycles, clinical peer reviews, and feedback sessions with researchers and data scientists.
  • Track performance data and micro-level student signals to inform ongoing instructional decisions.
  • Collaborate with the broader research team to support the validity and effectiveness of the study.
  • Support cohort expansion by stepping into lead instructor responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or long-term resident currently living and working within the United States.
  • Must be available for a full-time, 1-year fellowship, with potential extension into years 2 and 3.
  • Verifiable experience improving outcomes in early-to-mid elementary mathematics.
  • Strong understanding of foundational numerical logic and elementary math instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills in a virtual classroom setting with 8-to-10-year-olds.
  • High comfort level with daily documentation, decision journaling, and performance data tracking.
  • Ability to build adaptive lessons dynamically rather than relying on rigid, pre-packaged materials.
  • Preferred background as a certified teacher or as a top-tier university graduate in math, data science, or psychology.
  • Preferred track record of shifting student academic trajectories.
  • Comfort working in a structured, research-driven environment focused on pedagogical depth and scientific validity.
