Description

  • Restructure the existing design system into a scalable multi-brand architecture.
  • Separate shared platform foundations from brand-specific expression.
  • Build a new brand library for the system.
  • Refactor existing components and migrate work without introducing inconsistencies.
  • Support the prototype of a new e-commerce experience using the system.
  • Audit the current component ecosystem and classify what belongs in each layer of the system.
  • Create clear component specs, usage guidelines, and organized design files.
  • Collaborate with UX, Design, Development, E-commerce, and brand stakeholders.
  • Work with developers on handoff details and implementation considerations.

Requirements

  • Portfolio demonstrating design systems work, structured components, scalable libraries, and systems thinking.
  • Strong understanding of tokens, variables, components, documentation, and governance.
  • Advanced Figma skills, including components, variants, component properties, nested instances, auto-layout, variables, tokens, and responsive behavior.
  • Experience building or working deeply with token architecture using Figma variables.
  • Knowledge of primitive, semantic, and component-level tokens.
  • Experience refactoring existing systems and separating shared foundations from brand-specific assets.
  • Strong component architecture skills, including variants, properties, states, flexibility, and maintainability.
  • Solid design fundamentals, including typography, hierarchy, alignment, spacing, layout, and visual balance.
  • Understanding of e-commerce building blocks such as product pages, offers, promotions, bundles, pricing hierarchy, content modules, CTAs, comparison sections, and purchase paths.
  • Front-end awareness with comfort around HTML, CSS, and component-based frameworks like React.
  • Experience with Storybook, Chromatic, or a similar component/UI-kit environment is preferred.
  • This is not a junior role and requires someone who has worked inside design systems and understands how they scale.
