Description

  • Own revenue accounting analysis for customer contracts, modifications, renewals, expansions, and terminations under ASC 606.
  • Lead the monthly revenue close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and supporting schedules.
  • Manage NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) and develop and maintain standalone selling price (SSP) methodologies.
  • Research complex revenue accounting issues and prepare technical accounting memoranda.
  • Analyze MRR, ARR, deferred revenue, and revenue trends; investigate fluctuations and provide insights to Finance leadership.
  • Partner with Deal Desk, Sales, RevOps, and Legal to assess deal structures and revenue-recognition implications before contracts are finalized.
  • Serve as the primary Accounting contact for revenue-related audit requests and partner with external auditors.
  • Maintain and improve revenue accounting policies, documentation, internal controls, workflows, and related systems.
  • Collaborate with Billing Operations and the Financial Systems Manager to automate and scale revenue accounting processes.
  • Use AI tools and emerging technologies to improve accounting analysis, documentation, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of revenue accounting experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Experience reviewing customer contracts and determining revenue-recognition implications.
  • Experience owning monthly revenue close activities, including deferred revenue reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Strong analytical, Excel, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently research accounting guidance and clearly communicate conclusions.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • CPA or public accounting experience (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with NetSuite ARM or comparable ERP revenue management tools, subscription or usage-based models, and platforms such as Salesforce or Zone Billing (preferred).
