Description

  • Own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and execution for Consumer Risk within Checkout across credit decisioning, pricing, and fraud prevention.
  • Translate Affirm’s mission into a product roadmap that balances growth, risk, customer trust, and platform scalability.
  • Lead and scale a team of Product Managers across distinct Consumer Risk areas and build a culture of accountability, learning, and high performance.
  • Partner with Machine Learning, Analytics, and Engineering to shape model-driven product experiences and decisioning systems.
  • Use data, experiments, and modeling to drive strategy, quantify tradeoffs, and influence stakeholders.
  • Ensure risk experiences are transparent, fair, and intuitive for consumers while supporting merchant outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Design, Marketing, and GTM teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Define and manage key performance metrics such as approval rate, conversion, loss rate, unit economics, LTV, fraud outcomes, and customer trust.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and executives by clearly communicating strategy, tradeoffs, and impact.
  • Balance near-term execution with long-term platform investments to support scale across Affirm’s partner ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of Product Management experience, including leadership roles on fast-paced teams.
  • Deep experience working with Credit, Pricing, and/or Fraud stakeholders.
  • Understanding of credit underwriting tradeoffs, unit economics, loss management, and regulatory considerations.
  • Understanding of risk-based pricing, margin optimization, experimentation, and fairness considerations.
  • Understanding of fraud systems, real-time decisioning, false positive/negative tradeoffs, and customer trust.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical orientation with comfort discussing model-level concepts and using data to make decisions.
  • Experience building and scaling platform and decisioning products, not just surface-level UX.
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring large, geographically distributed PM teams.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • Fintech, payments, or risk-heavy consumer product experience is a strong plus.

  • Base salary range of $340,000-$375,000 in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT, or $305,000-$340,000 in other U.S. states.
