Description

  • Purchase materials, goods, and services in support of Government and AEVEX contracts in compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA/DCMA requirements.
  • Review purchase requisitions for completeness and compliance, request additional information when needed, and execute requisitions as requested.
  • Coordinate with internal customers, including Program Managers, to understand purchasing needs and timelines.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs and RFPs for a wide range of materials and services.
  • Analyze supplier quotes and negotiate purchase terms to secure the best value for the contract or project.
  • Establish new vendor relationships and conduct market research to identify suppliers across industries.
  • Communicate with vendors to track order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve purchasing issues.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor lead times, open purchases, commitments, shortages, and related database information.
  • Support receiving activities by validating received items against orders, allocating items to the correct contract or project, and resolving unsatisfactory deliveries with vendors.
  • Manage supplier performance by monitoring adherence to purchase order terms, delivery schedules, and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree minimum; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 6 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a Government/DoD contracting environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations and purchasing in a DoD environment.
  • Good understanding of technical requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work quickly, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to compile information and make informed decisions with little supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with purchasing in a manufacturing environment and ability to read engineering drawings and documentation is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
