Description

  • Provide high-quality virtual speech-language therapy services to K-12 students in Michigan.
  • Conduct standard and non-standardized assessments, analyze results, and write evaluation reports.
  • Develop strengths-based, child-centered, and family-centered treatment plans.
  • Ensure IEP, evaluation, and progress monitoring procedures comply with district, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Initiate, participate in, and follow through on MET/IEP procedures and meetings.
  • Complete speech-language evaluations for initial referrals and re-evaluations within required timelines.
  • Develop IEP goals and objectives with teachers, staff, and parents aligned to core standards.
  • Provide speech-language services according to each student’s IEP.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of services and student progress.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, staff, and educational teams to support student needs and communicate results and concerns.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • Michigan Board of Speech-Language Pathology license.
  • Must meet Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) requirements, including R 340.1796.
  • Eligibility is open to residents of Michigan.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office Suite, Google applications, email, and internet applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data to make educational decisions.
  • Satisfactory completion of federal and state required background check.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Preferred/desired: strong content knowledge in one or more content areas.
  • Preferred/desired: ability to work in a diverse educational community setting and understand community and student demographics.
  • Preferred/desired: understanding of state proficiency testing and state teaching standards.
  • Preferred/desired: flexibility, integrity, teamwork, and a genuine care for children and teaching.
