Description

  • Implement each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and write IEPs in a timely manner.
  • Participate in MTSS and contribute to the school’s student support process.
  • Maintain accurate student records and files in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Complete required paperwork, progress reports, and other documentation within established timelines.
  • Teach students in 1:1, small-group, and whole-class virtual settings.
  • Administer transition assessments, standardized tests, benchmark assessments, and evaluation assessments as directed.
  • Write lesson plans that align to IEP goals and the school’s course of study.
  • Schedule and participate in IEP meetings and other meetings for students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, psychologists, administrators, and outside professionals to support student success.
  • Provide resources and support to classroom teachers on disability-related needs and co-teach when needed.

Requirements

  • Open to residents of Missouri.
  • Current state certification or licensure in the appropriate special education area.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three years of teaching experience preferred, including at least 2 years in special education.
  • Strong content knowledge in one or more subject areas.
  • Familiarity with state proficiency testing and state teaching standards.
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn the MTSS process.
  • Experience working with a diverse student body.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with professionalism and tact.
  • Proficiency with Google Docs, MS Office Suite, email, and internet applications.
  • Prior experience with IDEA compliance software and databases, including PowerSchool Special Programs, preferred.
  • Ability to learn new technologies through independent study, professional training, and support from senior staff.
  • Strong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data to make educational decisions.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally and within the state.
  • Ability to pass federal, state, and local background checks.
  • Knowledge of co-teaching models and the ability to co-teach.
