Description

  • Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in core content areas and grade levels.
  • Deliver effective live lessons via web conferencing using research-based instructional practices.
  • Set up and manage courses in the Learning Management System.
  • Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide daily feedback and grading.
  • Maintain regular contact with each student.
  • Collaborate with the principal to create and deliver student progress reports.
  • Review student data frequently to guide instructional adjustments.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Use culturally responsive teaching practices in lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Incorporate 21st-century technology skills into classroom practice and team settings.
  • Plan and participate in non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips, including in-person attendance.
  • Support required face-to-face state testing and student events through annual travel and onsite attendance.
  • Implement school-wide culture expectations and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current Florida state teaching license in the appropriate content area.
  • Knowledge of Florida State Standards and Common Core Standards.
  • Preferred: two years of teaching experience.
  • Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information.
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred.
  • Open to Florida residents.
  • Willingness to travel and attend face-to-face events several times per year, including annual state testing.
