Description

  • Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in core content areas and grade levels.
  • Deliver live virtual lessons based on student needs using research-based instructional practices.
  • Set up courses in the learning management system and manage asynchronous coursework.
  • Monitor student progress, grade assignments daily, and provide feedback.
  • Track student contact and maintain regular communication with families.
  • Collaborate with the principal to create and deliver student progress reports.
  • Review student data to adjust instruction and improve academic outcomes.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Create a positive, caring classroom environment and implement school-wide culture expectations.
  • Integrate culturally responsive practices and 21st-century technology into daily teaching.
  • Plan and support non-instructional activities, including social events and field trips, and attend required in-person events.
  • Travel for annual face-to-face state testing and other required onsite attendance.
  • Collaborate respectfully with colleagues and complete other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Current Georgia teaching license in the appropriate content area.
  • Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
  • Preferred: 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage confidential information properly.
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred.
  • Open to residents of Georgia.
  • Ability to travel and attend face-to-face events several times per year, including annual state testing.
