Description

  • Own assigned service cases and deliver timely, high-quality resolution at customer sites according to contract prioritization.
  • Provide onsite service repair support and follow up with customers after service interventions to confirm instrument performance.
  • Perform assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of analytical laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Use test equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively to complete service work.
  • Complete required service documentation in compliance with company policy, cGMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support software loading and updates, calibrations, preventive maintenance, and pre-staging of new equipment.
  • Monitor personal parts stock, test equipment, and tools inventory to ensure adequate levels and current calibration certificates.
  • Conduct advanced service tasks, complex instrument configurations, and FRU-level repairs.
  • Provide on-the-job training to other Field Service Engineers on preventive maintenance, calibration, and service techniques.
  • Contribute to the Service Knowledge Base and recommend process improvements to increase service efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Technology, or an equivalent field.
  • Multi-year experience servicing and repairing analytical laboratory instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of customer experience factors and after-sales service.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong time management skills with effective scheduling, prioritization, delegation, and coordination of competing demands.
  • Fluent written and spoken Japanese and English.
  • Ability to travel as required within the APAC region, expected to be at least 65% of the time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, preferred.
  • Familiarity with microfluidic systems, preferred.
  • Experience working with optical systems, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Linux operating system, preferred.
