Description

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using PowerBuilder.
  • Implement new product features and resolve defects while maintaining high coding standards.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using software engineering best practices.
  • Incorporate unit testing into the development process to improve software quality and reliability.
  • Build scalable solutions using object-oriented principles and design patterns.
  • Propose technical and architectural solutions for new product features.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and document software architecture.
  • Perform root cause analysis for complex technical issues and recommend long-term improvements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation sessions, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Manage source control, builds, packaging, and deployment processes across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using PowerBuilder.
  • Strong experience with C#, C++, or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Experience working with SQL Server; Sybase experience is a plus.
  • Experience building and maintaining desktop applications.
  • Experience working with cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Lean, or Kanban development environments.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, or other modern source control systems.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
  • Experience across the full SDLC, including unit testing, code reviews, version control, build processes, deployment, and continuous integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within distributed teams.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience with Sybase databases (preferred).
  • Experience designing desktop and cloud hybrid solutions (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (preferred).
  • Experience mentoring developers or acting as a technical lead (preferred).
  • Experience creating technical architecture documentation and design specifications (preferred).
  • Experience working within enterprise software or highly regulated industries (preferred).
  • Knowledge of software packaging and deployment automation (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
