Description

  • Design full-course high school STEM curricula, including scope and sequence, unit plans, and daily lesson plans.
  • Develop student-facing lessons, problem sets, labs, projects, homework, and assessments for high school STEM courses.
  • Create formative and summative assessments with clear success criteria that measure mastery and application of skills.
  • Ensure curriculum alignment to New York State standards and Zeta’s academic vision and outcomes.
  • Embed inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and problem-solving into curriculum materials.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders, instructional coaches, and other curriculum writers to maintain coherence across courses and grade levels.
  • Use educator feedback and student performance data to iterate and improve curriculum materials.
  • Work remotely or in person as needed based on project requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics required; master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum.
  • Proven record of producing curriculum that drives strong student outcomes.
  • Experience designing curriculum for high school STEM subjects such as Principles of Physics, AP Physics I, or AP Physics C: Mechanics.
  • Ability to work as a 1099 independent contractor on a 12-month project-based engagement.
  • Immediate start date required.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. required.
  • Experience collaborating with academic teams and responding to feedback from educators and student data.
  • Experience with New York State standards (preferred).

Benefits

  • Compensation of $15,000 to $25,000 per project unit, depending on experience and project scope.
