Description

  • Collect and analyze information from the internet and other open sources to identify relevant threats and risk indicators.
  • Produce daily and recurring intelligence outputs, including alerts, reports, trend summaries, strategic assessments, and client briefings.
  • Support customer care and production activities across assigned intelligence deliverables.
  • Conduct ad hoc investigations, assessments, and threat monitoring during periods of increased risk, including outside core business hours when needed.
  • Use ZeroFox technology to filter, validate, and organize information based on client-specific criteria.
  • Assess the credibility, value, significance, and relevance of information from multiple data sources to create clear analytical products.
  • Collect, authenticate, validate, and document online evidence for investigations and reporting.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly through written reports and oral briefings.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute ideas to improve department operations.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through trainings, certifications, and other learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in open source research, social media research, or investigations.
  • Experience analyzing threats or supporting a security, risk, or due diligence function in the public or private sector (preferred).
  • Written and spoken proficiency in a second language is preferred.
  • Strong analytical ability, including trend analysis, pattern recognition, and connecting disparate information.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with comfort delivering briefings and presentations.
  • Experience producing both short-form and long-form reports using BLUF or similar formats.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience with social media platforms, blogs, IRC, deep/dark web, and message boards.
  • Proficiency with at least one online investigative tool such as Whois, Ping, or Traceroute, and with Google Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework.
  • Knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, DNS records, email headers, and P2P (preferred).
  • Experience briefing decision-makers and senior leaders (preferred).
  • Knowledge of relevant threat landscapes such as cybercrime, online fraud, physical/corporate security, activism, hacktivism, reputation risk, travel security, geopolitical, or policy issues (preferred).
  • Ability to meet physical and sensory requirements, including extended sitting/standing, occasional lifting of at least 10 lbs, and travel up to 10%.
