Description

  • Translate strategy into a sequenced backlog of problems, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Engineering to deliver continuously.
  • Keep work thin-sliced so the team can ship frequently, learn quickly, and reduce delivery risk through iteration.
  • Maintain backlog refinement, sprint readiness, and scope negotiation to support predictable delivery.
  • Use hands-on DevOps and cloud workflow knowledge to identify customer friction, gaps, and differentiation opportunities.
  • Talk with customers and internal stakeholders regularly to validate ideas, test assumptions, and pressure-test tradeoffs.
  • Shape and support beta and design-partner motions, including hypotheses, success criteria, and rollout plans.
  • Work embedded with Engineering on sequencing, technical tradeoffs, and delivery planning.
  • Ensure the component is cohesive across UX, APIs, data, and operational behavior, with strong reliability and customer trust.
  • Define success metrics and ensure releases are measurable so insights feed back into prioritization.
  • Own release readiness, including documentation, enablement inputs, and communication of what is new and why it matters.
  • Partner with security, support, and customer teams to design for IAM boundaries, auditability, guardrails, and safe defaults.

Requirements

  • Experience in a Product Manager or Technical Product Owner role.
  • 2–5 years of experience working closely with public cloud infrastructure in production environments.
  • 3+ years of product management experience in products relevant to Kubernetes or its ecosystem.
  • Strong product sense for turning messy problems into clear scope and shipped value.
  • Deep curiosity and technical fluency in cloud fundamentals, including identity/IAM, networking, compute, Kubernetes, observability, automation, and cost/billing concepts.
  • Experience building solutions that leverage or focus on cloud fundamentals and related technologies.
  • Coding experience is a plus, enough to collaborate effectively with engineers and reason about feasibility.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas simply and engage confidently with customers and experts.
  • A bias for action and continuous improvement, with a focus on shipping, measuring, learning, and iterating.
  • Bonus points for experience with developer tools, infrastructure, and SaaS platforms.
  • Bonus points for experience working directly with a founder or at an early-stage startup.
  • Bonus points for a background in analytics, growth, or UX research.
