Description

  • Support the implementation and management of compliance controls, processes, and operations for the Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime program.
  • Maintain an effective compliance monitoring, AML advisory, and sanctions prevention program across the business.
  • Develop and implement a UK-specific Compliance and AFC framework with clear policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the regulatory landscape, assess regulatory risk, and produce annual risk assessments and MLRO reports to the Board.
  • Draft monthly and annual compliance reports and other required regulatory reporting.
  • Conduct compliance reviews of new regulatory developments and communicate relevant updates across the business.
  • Manage Know Your Customer and transaction monitoring programs to detect unusual activity and investigate suspicious activity.
  • File Suspicious Activity Reports and other required reports in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee AFC compliance team operations, including training, capacity planning, KPIs, and KRIs.
  • Coordinate day-to-day compliance activities, remediation efforts, audits, reviews, and examinations.
  • Build relationships with regulators, payment schemes, financial institution partners, and card networks.
  • Support regulatory inquiries, filings, and reporting requirements, ensuring accurate responses to authorities.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and training to improve business understanding of legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the United Kingdom; the role is 100% remote with a dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection.
  • Ability to be approved by UK regulatory authorities to hold the MLRO and/or Nominated Officer role(s).
  • Extensive experience in banks, VASPs, complex financial services firms, or related e-money/payments industries at MLRO level.
  • Strong operational knowledge of building and running an AFC compliance program with UK regulatory expertise and alignment to global AFC standards.
  • Several years of people management experience.
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, and remote teams across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with AFC system implementation, configuration, and management.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Cryptoasset experience, including blockchain analytics and monitoring tools, and AFC program management experience.
