Description

  • Lead development of transient simulation models (including pumps, compressors, control valves, elevation effects, DRA, etc.) for integration with company software.
  • Develop steady-state and transient hydraulic model enhancements and provide concise technical inputs and requirements to the development team.
  • Perform steady-state and transient hydraulic analyses to ensure accurate digitization of customer environments and correct modeling of control components.
  • Conduct hydraulic analysis to support development, testing, and validation of automation technologies and flow-assurance features.
  • Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Deployment) to model fluid and mechanical properties across operating scenarios and ensure input-data quality.
  • Develop equipment control logic for simulation models that mimic field PLC behavior and support control systems.
  • Tune transient hydraulic models using offline and online methods and troubleshoot operational anomalies by replicating field events in the simulation environment.
  • Define simulation model scope and estimate delivery timelines, establish best practices for simulation and optimization, and produce comprehensive documentation throughout the model lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Experience in oil and gas pipeline modeling and related software development.
  • Deep technical knowledge of hydraulic behavior for pipelines and experience with both transient and steady-state simulations.
  • Experience modeling pipeline components such as pumps, compressors, control valves, elevation impacts, and drag-reducing agents (DRA).
  • Ability to develop equipment controls for simulation models that reflect field PLC behavior and integrate with control systems.
  • Experience using simulation tools to create accurate digital representations of customer assets and to tune models offline and online.
  • Experience troubleshooting operational anomalies by reproducing field events in simulation environments to identify software gaps and ensure use-case coverage.
  • Proven collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams to validate and ensure quality of simulation input data.
  • Ability to read and work with scripts and configuration files and to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Preferred: background in automation technologies, flow assurance, and control-system validation.

Benefits

  • Remote work available; full-time role with deployment to customer sites as needed.
  • Work at a venture-capital-backed company focused on automation in heavy industry.
  • Inclusive, equal-opportunity employer that accommodates accessibility needs during the hiring process.
  • Close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Deployment teams and opportunity to directly impact customer operations.
