Description

  • Work rejections and denials as they come in and escalate denial or rejection trends.
  • Verify patient eligibility and benefits, including coordination of benefits.
  • Identify and resolve claims processing issues, generate appeals, and reprocess claims as needed.
  • Contact insurance payers for eligibility, claims resolution, and authorization requests.
  • Submit medical records to insurance when needed.
  • Review and audit patient accounts for accuracy.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, management, staff, and third-party representatives.
  • Maintain compliance with professional standards, company policies, and federal, state, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage a high volume of claims, calls, chats, and tasks while meeting productivity and quality standards.
  • Respond promptly to calls, chats, and voicemails during business hours.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of previous medical billing experience.
  • Experience calling health insurance plans.
  • Experience billing for addiction medicine, outpatient medication-assisted treatment, or telemedicine services preferred.
  • Experience with medical software, insurance websites, and EHR systems; Elation or Candid preferred.
  • Must have experience with MS Word and Google Sheets or MS Excel.
  • CPC or CPB preferred.
  • Payment posting preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and use personal knowledge and experience for problem-solving.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, time management, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must provide a high level of customer service and work effectively in a team environment.
