Description

  • Create a faithful 3D model of the supplied WISEcode owl with clean topology and optimized geometry.
  • Build a professional control rig for posing, facial performance, body motion, wings, legs, tail, and secondary motion.
  • Develop a modular color and material system that supports blue, green, and red owl variants from one master asset.
  • Create expressive facial controls and speech-ready animation support, including visemes and lip-sync workflows.
  • Produce a reusable animation library covering idle, communication, product reactions, emotional reactions, and basic movement.
  • Ensure animations are layered, reusable, clearly named, and able to transition smoothly between states.
  • Export and validate a production-ready GLB for browser and application use with correct scale, materials, and transparency support.
  • Prepare final handoff assets, documentation, and source files for future updates by another artist or developer.
  • Collaborate with WISEcode to finalize technical choices, animation priorities, and implementation details.

Requirements

  • Experience as a 3D character artist, technical rigger, and animator.
  • Ability to accurately model an existing branded character rather than redesigning it.
  • Experience creating animator-friendly rigs with FK and IK controls where appropriate.
  • Experience building facial rigs with eye direction, eyelids, beak/jaw, visemes, and expression controls.
  • Experience with modular material systems and color variation workflows.
  • Experience exporting and testing real-time assets as GLB/glTF for web use.
  • Experience working with Blender and delivering a rigged master Blender file.
  • Experience ensuring assets work in modern browsers and with Three.js and React Three Fiber.
  • Ability to provide a portfolio, rigging reel, facial-rig examples, animation reel, and relevant creature/bird examples.
  • Preferred: experience with real-time character optimization, mobile performance constraints, and developer handoff documentation.
