Description

  • Lead and manage the Behavior Test Engineering Release Health Team, including hiring, setting OKRs, guiding work, and developing team careers.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and help maintain operational support for the team’s systems.
  • Automate Waymo’s testing pipelines to improve resilience, reliability, and scalability.
  • Lead technical work across SREs, test engineers, and software engineers.
  • Set technical direction and architectural guidelines for Waymo’s long-tail behavioral testing suite.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering partners to deliver impact in a critical systems space.
  • Develop and support a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 6+ years of industry experience in reliability engineering or production systems.
  • 1+ years of management experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience navigating a critical and horizontal space.
  • Ability to lead a technical engineering team and deliver impact while managing effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability as an individual contributor engineer.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated track record of aligning reliability engineering culture and goals with business objectives and priorities.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to engage deeply on technical issues the company and team will face.
