Description

  • Design, code, test, debug, and support COBOL programs for batch and online CICS processing.
  • Develop and maintain JCL for job scheduling and operational batch execution.
  • Integrate mainframe applications with Hogan platforms, including assessment engines and reporting modules.
  • Perform unit testing, code reviews, and partner with QA to resolve defects.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
  • Tune COBOL, DB2, and JCL jobs for optimal throughput and resource utilization.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily standups, backlog grooming, and sprint demos.
  • Author and maintain technical design documents, run books, and support procedures.
  • Liaise with business analysts, project managers, and operations teams to deliver work on time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on IBM mainframe development with ANSI COBOL.
  • Strong experience with CICS (BMS), JCL, and TSO/ISPF.
  • Solid DB2 SQL programming and performance-tuning skills.
  • Experience working with VSAM files, including ESDS, KSDS, and RRDS.
  • Hands-on Hogan experience with installation, configuration, report generation, or integration APIs.
  • Familiarity with mainframe source control tools such as Endevor, ChangeMan, or Git for z/OS.
  • Exposure to job scheduling tools such as Control-M or CA-7 and monitoring tools such as SDSF or RMF.
  • Comfort working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/oral communication skills.
