Description

  • Ensure design quality and consistency across client engagements staffed with contract designers.
  • Review design work and provide feedback when alignment or quality concerns arise.
  • Clarify expectations and mediate concerns to help contractors, clients, and internal teams move forward productively.
  • Serve as a thought partner to Client Strategy on design quality, risks, and opportunities within active accounts.
  • Support onboarding of new contract designers by providing context, expectations, and guidance.
  • Build supportive relationships with contractors beyond logistics, including coaching and collaboration when needed.
  • Partner with Talent Strategy on contractor sourcing, evaluation, interviews, and long-term network planning.
  • Match designers to opportunities based on skills, experience, and client context.
  • Collaborate with Client Strategy and Business Development on account health, growth, and design staffing approach.
  • Work with internal teams to improve systems, processes, and best practices for contract-based design work.

Requirements

  • Strong background in digital product design with the ability to assess high-quality work.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting designers, formally or informally.
  • Understanding of how design quality affects client trust, outcomes, and long-term relationships.
  • Pragmatic, clear, and steady communication style with the ability to step in when needed.
  • Ability to communicate directly and constructively with designers, clients, and internal partners.
  • Experience in a digital agency or working closely with contract designers at a product company.
  • Comfort building relationships and influence without formal authority in a distributed environment.
  • Values mentorship, learning, and knowledge-sharing.
  • Writes and speaks clearly, confidently, and succinctly.
  • Ability to work in the United States remotely; no work visa sponsorship is available.

  • Annual base salary of $105,000–$135,000, depending on skills and experience.
