Description

  • Lead and facilitate in-person financial assessment sessions to evaluate client financial health and operational efficiency.
  • Own the assessment process from new client kickoff through the six-week engagement and transition into recurring support.
  • Develop financial assessment reports and recommendations with Vessel Advisors’ CFOs, Controllers, and Advisory Partners.
  • Identify internal control gaps, perform accounting clean-up, and recommend remediation strategies to make books audit-ready.
  • Guide clients on financial decisions, planning, and forecasting using upside and downside scenarios.
  • Manage multiple client engagements concurrently while maintaining scope, timeline, quality, and deadlines.
  • Direct contractors and coordinate internal, external, and client staff as needed.
  • Maintain engagement economics by managing hours, budget, margin, and early risk escalation.
  • Build trusted relationships with owners, C-suite leaders, and other client stakeholders.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect assets and operations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Controller.
  • 5+ years of experience as an advisor or management consultant in an in-person capacity.
  • Must be located in the PST or MST time zones.
  • Ability to travel up to 2 times per month for 2-3 day assessments, including travel time.
  • Full-time availability for 45+ hours per week, including travel time.
  • Work from home during business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone.
  • Strong internet connection with a minimum of 100+ Mbps upload and 30+ Mbps download.
  • Elite verbal and written communication skills with the ability to redirect conversations appropriately.
  • Expertise in cloud-based software.
  • Experience with corporate finance, budgeting, and analyzing complex information.
  • Ability to maintain an organized remote workstation and a controlled audio environment.
  • Business casual dress required for virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Preferred experience in Construction, Audit, or public accounting.
  • Required attendance at the annual Vessel Retreat in Southern California for 3-4 days.
  • Location preference for NV, AZ, UT, TX, or CA.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $105,000 to $130,000, flexible depending on experience.
  • Bonus opportunity of up to 10% based on company and individual performance.
