Description

  • Schedule outpatient Imaging and Cardiopulmonary procedures accurately and efficiently while following preparation, provider, patient, scheduling, and insurance requirements.
  • Answer incoming calls, document complete messages, and prioritize or redirect calls appropriately.
  • Obtain complete orders and coordinate with providers, clinic staff, and technologists to verify demographics, insurance information, and diagnosis codes.
  • Create complete and accurate pre-registration accounts for scheduled appointments.
  • Make outgoing calls from scheduling request lists, document contact attempts, and follow reminder-call procedures.
  • Provide patients with preparation instructions, education, directions, check-in times, and appropriate responses or referrals for questions.
  • Coordinate coverage with other staff and schedulers to maintain scheduling continuity during absences.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with internal and external parties while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Model Vail Health’s organizational values and Just Culture principles and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Previous admitting or clerical experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Office-level computer and typing skills required.
  • Ability to obtain required computer skills within 90 days for online training, forms, policies, and benefits enrollment.
  • Working knowledge of English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • No license, certification, or specific education requirement listed.
  • Must be able to live and work primarily in an approved state: AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, KS, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI, where applicable.
