Description

  • Attend sales turnover meetings to understand project scope, estimates, and risks.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, sales estimates, and proposals.
  • Create project engineering deliverables such as submittals and workflow packages.
  • Generate RFIs to clarify project requirements.
  • Develop controls drawings in AutoCAD, including flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, schedules, and electrical schematics.
  • Select cost-effective installation methods and materials that comply with project specifications, codes, and company standards.
  • Evaluate and select control valves and actuators, and prepare accurate control valve schedules.
  • Design BMS communication networks, including architecture, topology, transmission media, and component selection.
  • Produce network wiring diagrams and network addressing documents.
  • Prepare submittal and electrical subcontractor buyout documents and coordinate closely with the project manager.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD software.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls, including damper actuator and control valve sizing and selection.
  • Knowledge of control strategies and logic for plant-level HVAC systems such as chillers, boilers, and air handlers.
  • Knowledge of control strategies and logic for supplemental HVAC systems such as VAV boxes, fan coil units, and unit heaters.
  • Knowledge of supervisory control strategies for BMS operation, such as life safety control and electrical demand control.
  • Knowledge of BMS communication protocols and network topologies, with understanding of installation and configuration best practices.
  • Knowledge of Honeywell DDC product offerings.
  • Knowledge of the company’s design standards and processes.
  • Ability to scope and implement project-level solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to defend technical decisions in design review meetings and work autonomously on projects with minimal complexity.
