Description

  • Attend sales turnover meetings and review project scope, estimates, plans, specifications, and proposals to understand requirements and risks.
  • Create project engineering deliverables such as submittals, workflow packages, and request for information (RFI) requests.
  • Develop controls drawings in AutoCAD, including flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, schedules, and electrical schematics.
  • Select installation methods and materials that meet project specifications, applicable codes, company standards, and cost objectives.
  • Evaluate and select control valves and actuators, including preparing accurate control valve schedules.
  • Design BMS communication networks, including architecture, topology, transmission media, and network components.
  • Produce network wiring diagrams and network addressing documents for project implementation.
  • Prepare submittal documents for customer or consulting engineer approval.
  • Prepare electrical subcontractor buyout documents and define the electrical scope of work.
  • Work closely with the project manager and other team members to support project execution.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD software.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls fundamentals and building blocks.
  • Knowledge of damper actuator and control valve sizing and selection.
  • Knowledge of control strategies for plant-level HVAC systems such as chillers, boilers, and air handlers.
  • Knowledge of control strategies for supplemental HVAC systems such as VAV boxes, fan coil units, and unit heaters.
  • Knowledge of supervisory control strategies for overall BMS operation, including life safety control and electrical demand control.
  • Knowledge of BMS communication protocols and network topologies, with understanding of installation and configuration best practices.
  • Knowledge of Honeywell DDC product offerings.
  • Knowledge of the company’s design standards and processes.
  • Ability to scope and implement project-level solutions with minimal guidance and work autonomously on lower-complexity projects.
  • Ability to defend technical decisions in design review meetings and identify issues in proposals, specifications, and drawings.
