Description

  • Design and implement scalable data and AI/ML infrastructure across multiple environments using Kubernetes, orchestration platforms, and infrastructure as code.
  • Improve data pipeline deployment, monitoring tools, and self-service capabilities for data teams.
  • Build and optimize infrastructure for real-time streaming and batch processing workloads, with attention to performance and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders, backend engineers, and ML engineers on high-level technical designs for resilient systems.
  • Champion modern infrastructure practices for building, deploying, and operating data systems at scale.
  • Mentor team members and help raise the technical standard of the DevOps function.
  • Support the reliability and observability of critical analytics systems through actionable monitoring and alerting.
  • Bridge DevOps and Data Engineering to better support data infrastructure needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience building, shipping, and operating production systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing infrastructure automation with Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
  • Deep experience with a major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including core services, networking, and IAM.
  • Strong end-to-end understanding of Kubernetes, including networking, scaling, security, observability, and upgrades.
  • Experience integrating data-centric components such as Kafka, RDS, BigQuery, or Aerospike into Kubernetes-based systems.
  • Practical experience with GitOps and CI/CD tools such as Argo CD, Argo Rollouts, GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Experience with observability tooling and practices, including metrics, logs, traces, SLOs, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Proven experience operating high-traffic, data-heavy production environments with a focus on reliability and cost efficiency.
  • Coding proficiency in at least one language such as Python or TypeScript is preferred.
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipeline deployment with tools such as Airflow, Temporal, or Kubernetes operators is a plus.
  • Experience creating self-service platforms, deployment tools, and monitoring solutions for data engineering teams is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of data-intensive infrastructure, including streaming platforms like Kafka or Kinesis, processing frameworks like Spark or Flink, and storage and observability systems is a plus.
  • Relocation support is not available.
