Description

  • Provide virtual small-group math instruction to K-12 students nationwide, primarily secondary/lower-level high school (e.g., Integrated Math 1).
  • Deliver targeted remediation, intervention, and summer-academy support as assigned by school partners.
  • Prepare light lesson materials, log in early, and complete session notes for each tutoring session.
  • Use Google Classroom and Zoom to run online lessons and manage student work and communication.
  • Collaborate with Tutored by Teachers staff and school partners to meet engagement requirements, schedules, and student needs.
  • Manage multiple short-term tutoring engagements and maintain availability for a few hours per week during assigned terms (engagements commonly run 14–30 weeks).
  • Optionally support the TbT community through supplemental roles such as interviewing, customer success, content development, or serving as a mentor teacher.

Requirements

  • Experience as a U.S. teacher with classroom experience teaching Math.
  • Experience teaching in an online environment.
  • Working knowledge of Google Classroom and Zoom.
  • Active teaching credential.
  • Experience with remediation, intervention, or small-group instruction (preferred).
  • Experience with secondary Math SPED or ELL instruction (preferred).
  • Bilingual ability and/or AP course experience (any APs) is a plus.
  • Availability for part-time, virtual engagements (usually a few hours per week; staffing follows semesters/trimesters/quarters).

Benefits

  • Competitive part-time pay generally $32.00 per hour (prorated) plus a 10% bonus (example: $35.30 per one-hour session); rates may range $28–36 per instructional hour +10% depending on engagement.
