Description

  • Provide virtual small-group math and/or ELA instruction to K-12 students across the United States.
  • Support school partners through tutoring engagements such as summer academies and remediation programs.
  • Deliver sessions that may include light preparation, early log-in, and session notes as part of the tutoring work.
  • Work with students during engagements that typically run 14 to 30 weeks and require a few hours per week.
  • Tutor students in an online environment using platform tools for instruction and communication.
  • Express interest in and accept available tutoring engagements through the teacher community.
  • Help advance equity in education by supporting high-needs students.
  • Participate in additional community opportunities such as interviewing, customer success, content work, or mentor teacher roles.

Requirements

  • Experience as a U.S. teacher.
  • Experience teaching math and/or ELA in the classroom.
  • Experience teaching in an online environment.
  • Working knowledge of Google Classroom and Zoom.
  • Active teaching credential.
  • Experience with remediation, intervention, or small-group instruction preferred.
  • Secondary math experience preferred.
  • SPED or ELL teaching experience preferred.
  • Bi-lingual ability preferred.
  • AP course experience helpful.
  • Dedication to advancing equity in schools.

Benefits

  • Flexible part-time virtual work with hours available around 5pm-8pm EST.
  • Compensation generally up to $32.00 per hour of tutoring plus a 10% bonus.
  • Some engagements offer $28-$30 per hour of tutoring plus a 10% bonus when lessons/materials are provided.
  • Community members are first in line for new tutoring opportunities.
  • Opportunities may include supplemental roles such as mentor teacher, interviewer, customer success, or content work.
  • Work is fully virtual, so no classroom presence is required.
