Description

  • Provide virtual small-group ELA and/or Math instruction to K–12 students across the United States.
  • Deliver tutoring sessions during and/or after the U.S. school day, typically a few hours per week.
  • Participate in tutoring engagements that typically run 14–30 weeks.
  • Prepare lightly for sessions, log in early, and complete session notes as required.
  • Follow provided lessons/materials when supplied and adapt instruction for small-group needs.
  • Use Zoom (or similar video platforms) to run live tutoring sessions.
  • Express interest in and accept tutoring engagement opportunities through the TbT teacher community.
  • Optionally support the community by taking on supplemental roles such as interviewing, customer success, content work, or mentor teacher responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Experience tutoring K–12 ELA and/or Math in the United States.
  • Availability to tutor during and/or after the U.S. school day (daytime availability such as 8am–4pm Eastern preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Zoom or similar video conferencing tools.
  • Experience with remediation, intervention, or small-group instruction (preferred).
  • SPED or ELL teaching experience (preferred).
  • Experience teaching in a U.S. classroom (preferred).
  • Active teaching credential (preferred).
  • AP course experience (any APs) is helpful but not required.
  • Commitment to advancing equity in schools.

Benefits

  • Competitive part-time pay generally up to $32.00 per instructional hour (prorated) plus a 10% bonus (approximately $35.30 per one-hour session); rates may range $28–$36 per hour plus 10% depending on the engagement.
  • Flexible, remote, part-time work with short- to medium-term engagements tied to school semesters/trimesters/quarters.
  • Higher pay than many tutoring companies and compensation that covers tutoring, light preparation, early login, and session notes.
  • Access to the TbT Teacher Community with priority updates about new tutoring opportunities and the ability to apply for supplemental roles (interviewing, content, mentor teacher, customer success).
  • No classroom requirement — fully virtual role.
