Description

  • Provide virtual-only Reading/English instruction and ACT/SAT English/Reading tutoring to K–12 students across the United States.
  • Deliver small-group instruction during assigned daytime Eastern hours (example windows: 8:00–10:00 AM and 12:00–3:00 PM ET).
  • Prepare lightly for sessions or follow provided lessons/materials as required and adapt instruction to student needs.
  • Log in early to start sessions, manage classroom activities on Zoom/Google Classroom, and complete session notes after tutoring.
  • Support remediation, intervention, and targeted skill development for high-needs students to advance equity in education.
  • Express interest in and accept tutoring engagements through the TbT Teacher Community and manage availability accordingly.
  • Possibly take on supplemental roles within the community such as interviewing, customer success, content development, or mentor teacher duties.

Requirements

  • At least one year of lead teaching experience in Math and/or ELA in a U.S. K–12 public, private, or charter school.
  • Experience teaching ACT/SAT Prep for 8th–12th grade in English/Reading.
  • Daytime availability matching engagement windows (e.g., 8:00–10:00 AM and 12:00–3:00 PM Eastern).
  • Working knowledge of Google Classroom and Zoom.
  • Dedication to advancing equity in schools.
  • Active teaching credential (preferred).
  • Experience with remediation, intervention, or small-group instruction (preferred).
  • Experience with secondary SPED or ELL populations and/or bilingual instruction (preferred).
  • AP course experience (any APs) is helpful.

Benefits

  • Competitive part-time pay generally around $32.00 per instructional hour (prorated) plus a 10% bonus (approx. $35.30 per one-hour session); some engagements range $28–36/hr + 10% depending on materials provided.
