Description

  • Set technical direction for platform engineering initiatives across the organization.
  • Deliver high-leverage platform capabilities that improve speed, operability, and scalability.
  • Partner with Infrastructure / DevOps and cross-functional teams to reduce coordination overhead.
  • Assess the current platform landscape, identify constraints, and uncover gaps that slow delivery.
  • Shape the environment platform strategy, including declarative environments, generated artifacts, and self-service developer experiences.
  • Lead technical design and architecture discussions for foundational platform work.
  • Design and implement features that improve platform repeatability, reliability, and safety.
  • Introduce and standardize automation-first practices that reduce manual operational work.
  • Improve engineering quality through code reviews, standards, documentation, and runbooks.
  • Own multiple platform initiatives end-to-end and drive measurable improvements in delivery and reliability metrics.
  • Mentor senior and junior engineers and establish durable cross-team alignment mechanisms.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, or equivalent depth of technical ownership.
  • Demonstrated experience leading platform, infrastructure, or developer-experience initiatives that improved reliability and/or delivery speed.
  • Experience with modern software delivery practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver complex, loosely scoped technical initiatives.
  • Strong platform engineering mindset with experience building reusable primitives, paved-road solutions, and automation frameworks.
  • Experience designing and building reliable, scalable, and operationally sound software systems.
  • Ability to influence without authority and align teams through clarity, pragmatism, and shared standards.
  • Strong automation-first mindset with focus on DORA metrics, toil reduction, and faster environment provisioning.
  • Remote opportunity for applicants in Canada.
  • Preferred experience or familiarity with environment automation, CI/CD maturity, reliability and observability, and developer experience.
