Description

  • Serve as the engineering leader’s right-hand and contribute as part of the organization’s leadership team.
  • Jump into whichever squad is blocked, solve difficult problems, and deliver working code.
  • Jointly own platform architecture decisions for the C1 Platform Foundation, including event bus, plugin lifecycle, multi-tenancy, RBAC, and schema registry.
  • Create pattern-setting reference implementations that the team can build from.
  • Train and unblock other engineers by writing code and raising the team’s overall capability.
  • Demonstrate ideas quickly through code, prototypes, and Friday demos.
  • Use AI throughout the development workflow to accelerate code generation, refactoring, test scaffolding, and debugging.
  • Build and support high-efficiency, event-driven, low-latency systems.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Fluency in 7+ programming languages across your career.
  • Senior-level Go experience is mandatory.
  • Python and TypeScript experience is expected.
  • Experience with at least one native or systems language is a strong plus.
  • Broad experience across multiple technologies, industries, and architectural eras.
  • Deep understanding of high-capacity distributed systems and failure modes such as state management, race conditions, locking, contention, ordering, and back-pressure.
  • Hands-on experience debugging production issues in distributed systems.
  • Experience with multiple messaging systems such as NATS, Kafka, Redpanda, or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with multiple database types, including relational, key-value, document, columnar, and graph databases.
  • Experience with at least two cloud platforms, with deep experience in one; GCP is strongly preferred as the deep cloud.
  • Strong AI knowledge across LLMs, SLMs, RAG, knowledge graphs, agents, training/fine-tuning, and evaluation.
  • Hands-on experience building AI-powered features and using AI-assisted development tools.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing tools, models, and priorities.
  • Self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving ability and comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment.
