Description

  • Build and operate critical backend services and shared platform components that support ingestion, request routing, caching, reliability, and production operations.
  • Profile bottlenecks and improve performance in critical code paths and infrastructure.
  • Reduce operational toil by turning manual or fragile processes into repeatable, well-owned systems.
  • Investigate incidents, participate in operational reviews, and complete follow-up work to improve reliability.
  • Improve observability through telemetry, dashboards, alerting, and long-term visibility into system health.
  • Work on Kubernetes lifecycle tasks, cluster-level infrastructure, and deployment safety.
  • Improve CI/CD foundations so teams can ship and operate changes with more confidence.
  • Make development and test environments faster, more stable, and more useful for engineering teams.
  • Collaborate closely with product, support, customer success, and other engineering teams to remove platform friction.

Requirements

  • Strong experience building backend services, distributed systems, infrastructure components, or high-volume production systems.
  • Highly proficient in Python; this is a must for the role.
  • Comfort working close to production, including debugging incidents, understanding system behavior, and improving reliability.
  • Interest in low-level and systemic problems, not only feature delivery.
  • Strong focus on performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and operational simplicity.
  • Pragmatic mindset with the ability to balance speed, stability, safety, and maintainability.
  • Demonstrated ownership and ability to make progress even when requirements are not fully defined.
  • Interest in data, SQL, and real-time analytical systems.
  • Clear written communication skills for asynchronous work and documentation.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar tools to work faster and stay unblocked (preferred).
