Description

  • Teach online ELA classes focused on Reading and Speaking, as well as Reading and Writing skills.
  • Prepare and deliver well-structured lessons using Think Academy curriculum resources.
  • Manage an engaging virtual classroom of up to approximately 10 students.
  • Grade student work, provide timely feedback, and track student progress.
  • Communicate professionally with students and parents about learning goals and performance.
  • Participate in regular teacher training, curriculum discussions, and professional development.
  • Handle class preparation and after-class support, including homework grading and parent communication.

Requirements

  • Native-level English speaker with excellent command of American English.
  • U.S. public, private, or charter school ELA teaching experience preferred, with 1st–4th grade experience ideal.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field required; Education, ELA, or English majors preferred.
  • Strong understanding of elementary reading instruction, literacy development, and writing support.
  • Comfortable with online teaching technology and virtual classroom management.
  • Enthusiastic, student-centered, and able to inspire young learners.
  • Available for a part-time schedule of 20–30 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
  • Able to work classes often scheduled in U.S. afternoon/evening hours and weekends.
  • Commitment to at least one full semester (Spring, Summer, or Fall) preferred.

Benefits

  • Starting base pay of $35 USD per teaching hour.
  • Non-teaching fee of $16–20 per hour for class preparation and after-class services.
