Description

  • Design and ship high-quality product experiences that create user, product, and business impact.
  • Define and solve complex, unscoped design problems across key product initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Content Operations, SEO Strategists, Product Analysts, and designers to move concepts from ideation to execution.
  • Support product strategy by identifying the right questions and prioritizing the most important user needs.
  • Lead larger-scale strategic and vision-oriented design projects.
  • Conduct design and user research as needed.
  • Mentor fellow designers and contribute to the Product Design team through knowledge-sharing and design system improvements.
  • Own and lead Product Design cultural events and rituals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve team and discipline practices, including through new tooling and AI.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, new technologies, and innovative user experiences in sports apps, sports media, and news products.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience designing shipped, large-scale product experiences across web and native applications.
  • A strong visual and interaction design portfolio or presentation.
  • Expert communication skills for presenting design decisions that balance user, product, and business needs.
  • Proven experience collaborating with engineers, product managers, cross-functional partners, and stakeholders.
  • Experience establishing collaborative working structures, feedback loops, and critique processes with other designers.
  • Ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and priorities.
  • Expert Figma skills and familiarity with other design tools.
  • Experience with prototyping and animation to explore and communicate design solutions.
  • Experience incorporating AI tooling into the design process.
  • Subject matter expertise in sports and/or media, with a strong understanding of fandom-oriented products.
  • Willingness to try new things, innovate, learn, teach others, and learn from mistakes.

  • Annual base salary range of $160,000 to $180,000 USD.
