Description

  • Design and coordinate telecom, Wi‑Fi, and other low-voltage technology systems for small-to-mid-size building projects under the direction of a mentor or team lead.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed drawings, specifications, contract documents, design calculations, and reports for assigned projects.
  • Work directly with clients, product manufacturers, contractors, architects, and internal design teams throughout programming, design, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Perform and assist with job site inspections to verify existing conditions and contractor progress, and document findings.
  • Track project decisions, budgets, schedules, and prepare opinions of probable construction cost (OPCC) as required to meet project targets and profitability.
  • Assist with pursuit activities including fee development (PSA), proposals, interview coordination, and fostering client relationships to identify additional work.
  • Delegate work effectively, promote teamwork, provide indirect mentorship, and review or correct technical deliverables from other staff as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project records, meeting notes, timesheets, and expense reports, and secure authorization for Additional Services Agreements (ASAs) when scope changes occur.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum of three years of discipline-specific design experience (telecom, structured cabling/low-voltage) for facilities construction projects.
  • Experience delivering small-to-mid-size construction projects (typical TEECOM fee $100,000+), including multi-discipline coordination and both long and fast-track schedules.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft Office/G Suite, Navisworks, and Slack.
  • Experience with job site inspections, preparing construction documents, and tracking budgets and schedules.
  • Preferred experience in datacenters and/or critical infrastructure facilities.
  • Certifications such as EIT, CDT, RCDD, and PE are a plus.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States (TEECOM does not sponsor visas).
