Description

  • Design, build, and refine machine learning models that identify members at high risk for costly MSK interventions using claims, EMR, and enriched external data.
  • Own the technical architecture for Predict’s data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines to ensure reliable healthcare data processing at scale.
  • Establish and maintain MLOps practices, including model versioning, deployment, monitoring, retraining pipelines, and performance tracking.
  • Conduct rigorous analyses of algorithm performance, cost-curve impact, and ROI delivered to clients to inform product and commercial decisions.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists and data engineers; set goals, provide feedback, and create development opportunities.
  • Hire additional team members and foster a culture of intellectual rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as Predict’s technical subject-matter expert in client meetings, sales cycles, implementations, business reviews, and QBRs.
  • Translate complex data science concepts into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders and partner with sales and customer success to demonstrate value.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, health economics, and data access/integration teams to align technical roadmap and validate clinical and financial outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in data science, machine learning engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience managing technical teams with a track record of developing talent and delivering results through others.
  • Expertise with healthcare data, particularly medical and pharmacy claims data; EMR experience highly valued.
  • Strong foundation in machine learning techniques (e.g., gradient boosting, random forests, logistic regression, survival analysis); deep learning/transformer experience not required.
  • Proficiency in Python and the modern data science stack (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.).
  • Experience building and maintaining production data pipelines using tools like Airflow, dbt, Spark, or similar.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices including model deployment, monitoring, versioning, and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience representing technical work in client-facing settings.
  • Based in the United States and eligible to work without sponsorship (no visa sponsorship provided).
  • Preferred: experience at a healthcare technology company, health plan, or healthcare analytics vendor; familiarity with health economics, value-based care, population health management, or predictive models for utilization management/risk stratification.

  • Total compensation range $217,000–$341,000 (includes base, variable, and equity).
