Description

  • Review healthcare certification course content for clinical accuracy, completeness, and exam alignment.
  • Provide expert feedback on errors, gaps, outdated information, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Validate exam preparation across multiple certification pathways within the assigned discipline.
  • Collaborate with the academic team and content vendor to resolve questions and clarify standards.
  • Approve final course content before launch.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in a related healthcare field.
  • Active certification in the relevant discipline, or an equivalent nationally recognized credential where allowed.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in medical billing and coding, sterile processing, medical assisting, or surgical technology, depending on the role.
  • Medical Billing & Coding SMEs must hold CPC, CCA, CCS, CBCS, or an equivalent coding certification.
  • Sterile Processing Technician SMEs must hold CRCST, CSPDT, or an equivalent NCCA-accredited sterile processing certification.
  • Medical Assistant SMEs must hold CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, CMAC, or an equivalent nationally recognized medical assistant certification; candidates with 5+ years of MA experience may substitute certification with demonstrated clinical expertise.
  • Surgical Technology SMEs must hold CST, STC, TS-C, or an equivalent nationally recognized surgical technology certification.
  • Medical Assistant SMEs need experience in outpatient settings.
  • Surgical Technology SMEs need 3-4 years of experience in multi-specialty operating rooms, including at least 2 years of OR scrub experience within the past 5 years.
  • Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related healthcare field, multiple certifications, teaching experience, and 5+ years of specialized experience in the discipline.
