Description

  • Draft and prosecute U.S. patent applications involving wireless communications, cellular technologies, networking, signal processing, and related technologies.
  • Coordinate foreign patent prosecution with international counsel across global patent portfolios.
  • Prepare Office Action responses and manage deadlines for an active prosecution docket.
  • Work directly with inventors and in-house counsel to understand technologies and develop appropriate patent protection.
  • Collaborate with partners and practitioners on patent strategy, portfolio development, and client counseling.
  • Analyze technical disclosures, standards, and prior art to develop effective prosecution strategies.
  • Manage matters independently while maintaining high technical and legal quality standards.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; law school transcript required.
  • Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 2–5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Experience or strong working knowledge of cellular and wireless technologies preferred, including 3GPP, LTE, 5G, 6G, RF systems, baseband processing, wireless protocols, signal processing, or networking.
  • Excellent patent drafting and technical writing skills, including translating complex concepts into clear, defensible claims.
  • Strong academic credentials and ability to manage matters independently with appropriate oversight.
  • U.S.-based availability required to support client requirements.
  • Experience with AI-enabled legal or productivity tools such as Claude or Harvey preferred.
