Description

  • Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications.
  • Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
  • Drive accessibility efforts by integrating and validating Windows accessibility APIs and related user experience features.
  • Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders on feature planning and UI/UX architecture.
  • Own features through the full lifecycle from conception and design to implementation, testing, release, and maintenance.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs, performance issues, memory leaks, rendering issues, and compatibility problems.
  • Propose robust architectural and design solutions for technical issues and long-term maintainability.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical design and architecture decisions.
  • Help shape the long-term roadmap for the Windows platform.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI or similar, C#, and XAML.
  • Additional experience with native Windows code such as C++, Win32, WinRT, or COM is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of Windows application architecture, including interoperability between managed code (.NET) and native code.
  • Proven track record of designing, building, and shipping production-quality desktop applications.
  • Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows such as Microsoft UI Automation or similar.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals, including OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multi-threading or asynchronous programming.
  • Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and making architecture-level decisions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain tradeoffs, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive consensus.
  • A user-centric mindset focused on polished, intuitive, and accessible experiences.
  • Experience with UI test automation, performance optimization, localization or globalization, telemetry and crash reporting, or CI/CD workflows is preferred.
