Description

  • Own the source inspection program to verify supplier-provided documentation and part conformity to purchase orders (part numbers, revisions, quantities, traceability, and damage).
  • Develop and maintain inspection procedures and work instructions, communicate changes to the team and suppliers, and ensure adherence to updated processes.
  • Implement changes to working conditions and procedures to increase safety, reliability, and efficiency in inspection operations.
  • Spend approximately 25% of time onsite with suppliers to understand environments and drive process improvements within supplier inspections and source inspection.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems and support conflict resolution with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Interface with Procurement, SCE, Production, and other cross-functional teams to align inspection support with key priorities and quality challenges.
  • Interface with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve product and documentation nonconformances, corrective action compliance, and procedure issues.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions on inspection operations and support development of inspection program processes.
  • Maintain, track, and communicate program metrics and objectives to the inspection team and stakeholders.
  • Perform supervisory duties including timecard management, training, audits, procedure creation, performance reviews, and scheduling remote inspection resources based on business priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 4+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, or quality assurance.
  • 1+ years of experience leading people, teams, or technical projects (experience in a direct management role preferred).
  • Ability to understand purchase orders and how supplied documentation meets PO quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection tools and methods, and experience with ISO 9001/AS9100/9102 (first article inspection) (preferred).
  • Experience with data analysis to interpret inspection trends, team performance, and supplier metrics; strong technical problem-solving and communication skills (preferred).
  • Lean/6-Sigma or other formal continuous improvement experience (preferred).
  • Computer literacy with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (preferred).
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs unassisted and perform physical activities such as standing, climbing, bending, pulling, and carrying as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to supplier sites as needed (up to 25%).
  • Position may require long hours and weekend work as needed; applicant must meet ITAR eligibility (U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or be eligible for required State Department authorizations).

  • Base salary range: $105,000 - $135,000 per year for Supervisor level.
