Description

Develop and perform acceptance testing of manufacturing processes, techniques, and tools for efficient high-rate manufacturing.
Design and implement precision tooling to eliminate assembly errors, improve quality, and minimize cycle time.
Automate novel manufacturing processes to ensure repeatability on high-rate production lines.
Work with design engineering teams to influence flight design and vehicle architecture through design-for-manufacturing improvements.
Develop and automate in-situ inspection techniques to increase yield and reduce cycle time.
Manage the transition of parts and assemblies from development into high-rate production.
Challenge and simplify requirements to optimize processes and reduce overhead.

Requirements

Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
1+ years of manufacturing and process design experience; internship and academic experience are acceptable.
Master's degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
Hands-on project experience with mixed-value-stream or high-rate manufacturing lines focused on maximizing yield and increasing rate preferred.
Proficiency in mechanical assembly methods, testing, failure mode effects analysis, and troubleshooting preferred.
Experience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems preferred.
Experience developing, maintaining, and improving weld processes and weld inspection techniques, including automation preferred.
Experience using SQL or other data management structures to inform priorities and measure performance preferred.
Ability to perform physically demanding work in tight quarters, confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme outdoor environments.
Ability to travel to remote build sites up to 10% and work a flexible schedule based on operational needs.
Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or be eligible for required authorization.
