Description

  • Develop a deep understanding of Sonatype’s multi-product developer platform, personas, and core jobs to be done.
  • Co-create user flows and experience direction with product managers and engineers.
  • Map complex information architecture, developer workflows, permissions, and multi-product interactions into clear experience patterns.
  • Create user, product, and system flow diagrams in Miro.
  • Shape conceptual designs and UX architectures for new features and iterative improvements.
  • Build coded UX prototypes using Claude Code, VS Code, GitHub workflows, and front-end fundamentals.
  • Structure prototypes so AI tools can generate engineering specs, scope definitions, and implementation requirements from code diffs.
  • Conduct lightweight research such as interviews, surveys, UAT, and quick validation when needed.
  • Facilitate iterative design and exploration sessions with PMs and engineers.
  • Provide UX reviews, coaching, and guidance across product teams and help improve design system alignment.

Requirements

  • Significant experience designing enterprise software or developer platforms, typically 10–15+ years.
  • Experience collaborating deeply with engineers; hybrid UX/engineering backgrounds are a strong plus.
  • Skilled in lightweight research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability tests, and UAT.
  • Ability to choose the right level of research for the situation and avoid overly slow or academic processes.
  • Comfort building working UX prototypes with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React familiarity.
  • Experience using GitHub and version control.
  • Comfort with IDE and AI code editor pairings.
  • Strong UX judgment in complex technical domains.
  • Ability to simplify aggressively within real constraints.
  • Collaborative, positive, and non-defensive approach in evolving workflows.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curious, experimental AI mindset and comfort using AI for structure, exploration, prototyping, and iteration.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
