Description

  • Serve as the first legal hire in APJ and build and manage the regional legal team as the business grows.
  • Review, draft, negotiate, and close customer, partner, reseller, and other commercial agreements for the APJ sales organization.
  • Act as a pragmatic legal business partner to APJ sales and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead complex, cross-border enterprise SaaS transactions across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Advise on regulatory, compliance, and legal developments affecting the APJ business.
  • Provide legal training and enablement on contract processes and related legal issues.
  • Maintain and update agreements, policies, templates, playbooks, and scalable legal workflows.
  • Partner with sales and executive leadership to enable revenue growth and global expansion.

Requirements

  • Law degree and admission in good standing in Singapore or Australia; international legal experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience combining law firm and in-house work at a high-growth technology company.
  • Experience drafting, negotiating, closing, and advising on complex commercial software and SaaS agreements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of SaaS and software licensing issues, including data privacy, security, intellectual property, open source, revenue recognition, and tax.
  • Experience with professional services and go-to-market programs, including partner and reseller arrangements.
  • Experience supporting a high-growth infrastructure SaaS company is preferred.
  • Strong judgment, business orientation, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and management skills.
  • Ability to translate legal risk into practical commercial advice and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience hiring and managing attorneys and other legal specialists.
