Description

Own the long-term technical direction of Roo's frontend platform across web and mobile.
Partner with Product and Design to evolve the design system as a core platform.
Make the design system easy to use through integrations, documentation, tooling, and developer workflows.
Lead platform initiatives such as framework upgrades, React Native modernization, Expo adoption, and shared library evolution.
Own migration of legacy components to the v2 design system and enable the team to complete the migration independently.
Create patterns that help engineers ship new pages and flows quickly from shared components.
Improve developer experience with automation, templates, documentation, and shared tooling.
Identify and remove friction points such as missing tokens, undocumented patterns, and inconsistencies.
Scope, build, and ship high-leverage platform improvements independently.
Support infrastructure and tooling that accelerate AI-assisted and frontend development.

Requirements

Significant experience building production software with a focus on frontend systems.
Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals with deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
Experience building frontend experiences, backend services, developer tooling, or platform infrastructure as needed.
React Native or mobile experience.
Experience working closely with designers and modern design systems.
Comfort working in Figma and translating design decisions into scalable frontend architecture.
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar.
Experience connecting design systems to prototyping tools, AI coding environments, or engineering pipelines.
Ability to operate well in an engineering organization and own a technical roadmap.
Familiarity with Storybook, style-dictionary, or design token pipelines is preferred.
Experience with animation and interaction frameworks such as Framer Motion, Rive, or Lottie is preferred.
