Description

  • Perform residential site visits to conduct in-home energy audits and visual inspections of installed energy-efficiency measures.
  • Inspect home components including foundations, basements, crawlspaces, mechanical systems, HVAC, insulation, windows, lighting, appliances, and the building envelope.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as blower doors, combustion analyzers, and infrared cameras to assess air leakage and energy performance.
  • Collect and analyze utility data, homeowner usage patterns, and building specifications to inform recommendations.
  • Document installed equipment and system performance with accurate records, photos, and timely submissions.
  • Input audit findings into provided software tools and prioritize energy-saving recommendations.
  • Perform post-installation inspections to verify completion and effectiveness of energy upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, BPI-related practices, and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with contractors, utility representatives, program managers, and other internal teams to resolve deficiencies and verify corrective actions.
  • Support the broader field auditing team and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be located in greater Evansville, Indianapolis, or Ft. Wayne, Indiana, or near Louisville, Kentucky.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in energy, construction, environmental science, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in field services, quality control/quality assurance, consulting, energy efficiency, or utility-related work strongly desired.
  • Certification as a BPI Building Analyst, RESNET HERS Rater, or equivalent, or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of building science, construction, and technical concepts is required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to travel 25% to 75% of the time, with limited overnight travel.
  • Ability to move up and down ladders, work in attic spaces, and operate in outdoor, non-conditioned, and office environments.
  • Experience with SnuggPro is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Interest in sustainability and making a meaningful environmental impact.

  • Base salary range of $50,000 to $75,000.
