Description

  • Perform on-site residential energy audits covering HVAC systems, insulation, lighting, appliances, and the building envelope.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as blower doors, duct blasters, watt meters, and thermal guns to assess air leakage and energy performance.
  • Collect and analyze utility data, homeowner usage patterns, and building specifications.
  • Enter audit findings into software tools and prioritize energy-saving recommendations.
  • Educate homeowners and residents about energy-saving opportunities, rebates, and best practices.
  • Perform post-installation inspections to verify completion and effectiveness of energy upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with contractors, community-based organizations, utility representatives, and program managers.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit documentation in a timely manner.
  • Review QA/QC findings for residential weatherization, HVAC, and water heating installation inspections.

Requirements

  • Must be located in or near the Columbus, Ohio area.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in energy, construction, environmental science, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in field services, quality control/quality assurance, consulting, energy efficiency, or utility work highly desired.
  • Certification as a BPI Quality Control Inspector preferred, or ability to obtain it within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of building science, construction, and technical practices is required.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Ability to travel 25% to 75% of the time, with limited overnight travel.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

  • Base salary range of $68,000 to $78,000.
