Description

  • Support development of new test assets and processes, including modifications to existing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Work with design and manufacturing partners to execute mechanism production testing campaigns efficiently and at scale.
  • Drive mechanism assembly test efforts through design integration, test equipment and tooling sourcing or design, test sequencing, mBOM development, work order creation, training, and specification authoring.
  • Support workcenter development by evaluating assembly and test operations, safety, tooling, capital equipment, and operational goals.
  • Provide hands-on support to the shop floor and production personnel to resolve test issues quickly.
  • Feed upstream design feedback to improve manufacturability, testability, and reparability.
  • Analyze data to assess assembly performance and investigate recurring test discrepancies.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Build strong working relationships with design, production, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to align manufacturing and test execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience authoring test procedures for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies.
  • Experience partnering with design engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to execute test procedures and investigate failures and anomalies.
  • Experience designing, managing, and implementing new test systems or test improvements with significant ownership.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety standards, common test hazards, and mitigations.
  • Experience with electromechanical or pneumatic assembly, electrical or pneumatic functional checkouts, integrated testing, leak checking, sensor checkouts, high voltage systems (320V+), high-pressure pneumatic systems, and instrumentation and sensor setup.
  • Proactive self-starter with experience defining testing processes and delivering projects in fast-paced production environments. (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of rocket subsystems, including structures, mechanisms, high-pressure gas systems, and avionics, and experience planning hazardous aerospace operations. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with industry test standards such as SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540D, and MIL-STD-810G. (Preferred)
  • Experience with test automation, data acquisition and control systems, electrical test equipment, and pressure test equipment. (Preferred)
